My Imda 3.0

This is Imda Modigli. I waited a long time to get her . She came with two heads. I made this little dress for her from a handkerchief.

She is sweet. I have Babette also. I love this little sculpt. Now I need to name her.

A True Story

My husband and I went for our usual evening walk in the woods near our home. There is a beautiful little stream there where the forest animals come to drink. My husband is a nature photographer so as usual he brought his camera along.

We were enjoying the silence in the woods, and to our delight it had just started to snow when were heard animal noises from the woods…or so we thought. This is what we saw…captured on camera, by my startled husband.

A beautiful young girl was coming through the woods toward us. She seemed to be aware of our presence. When she came out into the open in a small clearing, we saw that she was, well…otherworldly. She observed us calmly as we did her, yet our hearts were pounding. We felt imbued by her loving presence.

Then, she reached out and touched the tip of an antler and it light up!  She was a beautiful magical creature. She whispered to me and  inside my head I heard her say,” I am Cara. I watch over the animals in the forest. I can appear in any form I wish.”

Then she sat down in the snow, all the while captivating us with her gentle gaze.  We sat down too. She didn’t seem to be cold or disturbed by the fact that my husband kept taking pictures. It was as if she wanted to show herself and her magic to us.

We sat entranced by this vision for maybe a minute, then she slowly turned her head and pointed into the woods.

We couldn’t imagine what she was going to show us. We followed her direction but saw nothing unusual.  When we looked back, she was gone. I swear I heard a childish giggle drift away on the snow and the wind. One thing we do know about this exquisite mystical visitor is that she had a sense of humour.

I created this doll with a grant received by the Ontario Arts Council. The Ontario Arts Council is an Agency of the government of Ontario.
