Whilst I wait for my own girl I amuse myself with my new Dollstown girl. There is alway a wee bit of masculinity in the Dollstown sculpts. I think this adds to their beauty….not so pretty -pretty. Amy (not named yet) is a perfect combo. I’m always amazed at how much I enjoy and love these dolls. I think I have some kind of bond with the artist by now. I shall probably never meet him but feel very connected to him through his work.
I made this dress for her. It is a Bo-Peep dress (similar to the series I did for PG.) The special thing about this dress is I made it from a vintage table-cloth a friend gave me this summer (thanks Nancy). The lace is in good shape but I was only able to salvage a small piece of the fabric (fine sheer linen with daisies embroidered on it). It was created in panels joined by this exquisite lace and hand stitched together .It took an hour to free the lace. It really was once an awesome creation. I’ve had to reinforce a few spots with iron on interfacing so I could create this dress. It’s quite fragile so it’s a keeper. I love it and I love her
